Malando is one of the great mysteries of music. why should a Dutchman (real name Arie Maasland) who has never been to Argentina have for more than a quarter of a century led a tango and rumba orchestra that has achieved world fame, won a host of awards, and become more popular in Latin America than most "home-grown"musical products? Maybe its because his style is very recognisable immediately.
It is South American music with a Dutch touch.
Malando introduced the so called "Continental-Tango" to the world..
