The Larry Page Orchestra
"From Larry With Love"
Larry Page, well known producer of The Kinks and The Troggs plus running the successful labels Page One and Penny Farthing became his own artist on six occasions through the 60’s as leader of the Larry Page Orchestra. Like fellow producer John Schroeder, Larry saw the huge potential in alternative arrangements of pop hits as played by a pop band backed by a full orchestra. He made several albums between 1965 and 1977 all recorded at the top studios of the day with the best session players and the resulting sound quality is excellent.
This Larry Page release compiles some of the best tracks from Larry’s orchestra albums: all released between 1967 & 1977. Songs selected are mostly well known but the arrangements and performance take them well away from the original versions into perfect Loungecore and Easy Club Land. |
