Franz Grothe (1908-1982) was a German composer and conductor. He composed numerous songs espacially for movies. His Mitternachtsblues (Midnight blues) became one of his most popular songs, Bert Kaempfert reached #1 in the charts with it. On this album Hugo Strasser plays 14 of Grothe's songs arranged in ballroom style.

Here is a rather rare Hugo Strasser album from 1974, at least it was for me, until I bought it a few weeks ago. I knew it existed, I even found a bad link of it on the internet, but I never found it in a store. The album contains, as the title says, music from the Alps, but then played the Strasser way. The music was arranged by Hans Ehrlinger and Benny Gebauer and they tried to make the Alps sound a little more swinging.

Peter Kreuder (1905-1981) was a German/Austrian composer, pianist and conductor. He composed the music for over 180 movies, operas, operettas and musicals. From his works numerous songs are now known as Schlagers (German Evergreens) and are still recorded by many artists.
